HOW CROSS SYNC WORKS

Share text between your phone, laptop, and other devices.

Cross Sync is a shared online scratchpad for passing notes, links, and text between devices. Open the page, write or paste something, and see changes appear on connected devices in real time. No account is required.

Open it on the same network

Devices with the same public IP address automatically use the same room. Open Cross Sync on both devices to start sharing text.

Connect across networks or a VPN

Select Connect devices, choose Invite a device, and enter the six-digit code on the other device. Each invitation works once and expires after ten minutes.

Write together in real time

Collaborative editing merges changes from connected devices, so you can type together rather than send whole documents back and forth.

Is this a private place to store text?

Anyone sharing your public IP address, or joining through an invitation, can read and edit the room. Cross Sync uses HTTPS in transit but does not provide end-to-end encryption. Avoid passwords and other sensitive information.

How long does shared text remain available?

Rooms expire after 24 hours without edits. Text may clear sooner when the server restarts or redeploys. Keep a separate copy of anything you need to save.

Why are devices on the same Wi-Fi seeing different rooms?

A VPN, proxy, or different IPv6 address can give each device a different public IP. Use a one-time invitation code to connect them to the same room.
